Primary diagnoses: infection with B.Hominis & D.fragilis
Length of illness: 10 years
Treatment: natural therapies
Severity of symptoms: moderate to severe
Outcome: currently undergoing treatment
I have been diagnosed wit h D.fragilis. Have been ill for
10 years after returning from two months in Indonesia. Parasites
were suspected and never found....have started using natural
remedies: VRM-3 capsules, WO oil, and Uva Ursi. I will do 4 cycles
of 10 days on and 5 days off. In 60 days I will be retested by Great
Smokies Lab. I experienced deep fatigues, abdominal upsets,
originally weight loss, and depression. I am much better
than I was and look forward to being symptom free soon. Thanks for
your web site. It is more helpful than the more formal sites, e.g.
CDC.
Yours in peace,
F (USA)
I got rid of the blastocystis hominis, however, DF persists.
We are doing a second round of the CRM3 tablets, wormwood oil, and
biociden, plus urva usi. My gut is taking it pretty hard. Am also
taking somethings to soothe gut at same time. Also candida,
other yeast, and bacterias were found this time! The above
also treats them. Am on a very simple, spare diet of grains, vegetables,
and proteins. Hope to conquer this by the end of the next two months.
Thanks for asking.

Yes, I am taking acidophilus. Much less gas on this restricted diet.
We were gone for a week, and it was diffficult to find food while
traveling. Glad to be back home where I can find a bit more variety
to eat. ....
Best, F

Treatment: unknown drug x 1
Severity of symptoms: moderate to severe

Hi Jackie:
(thankfully?!?) It is only my mom who was infected, dad is okay. I
don't know off hand what she was given but I will ask her next time
I talk with her and let you know. Diarrhea and fatigue are her main
symptoms, but lack of appetite and generally feeling unwell as well.
She says she didn't lose weight because she would force herself to
eat (good thing as she doesn't have a lot of "extra"). Another thing
to throw an "glitch" is that they (up until the 14 of Aug) were on
well water which had a total choliform count all over the map. One
week it would be 12, then 2, then 8 then 17 in the next weeks respectively.
They have now hooked up to "city" water and the total count is 00,
therefore their pipes are not contaminated with anything.
Hope this helps. K
Hi Jackie:
....She was put on PMS-Trikacide Metronidazole, 500 mg for 10 days.
This was the second drug she was put on because the parasite
was still there after the treatment with the first on for 10 days.
I don't know the name of it, but I will ask her again (she told me
but I didn't write it down and therefore have forgotten what it is.)
She sent in a 3rd set of stool specimens but hasn't heard yet if this
regiment of drugs got rid of it. Her doc. also (finally) sent her
to a gastroenterologist. So we shall see what he/she has to say. Her
doc. is not convinced that the parasite is the only reason for her
diarrhea. We shall see, once she gets rid of it.

Dear Jackie:
Finally after phoning at least 20 drugstores, I have found
diodiquin in 210 ml tablets...and am starting my seven year old
daughter on it today. I will let you know how she progresses.
Genie had been diagnosed with low hemoglobin levels when she was
four years old and had been prescribed iron tablets.. She has been
pale, tired and achey only at intermittent periods,,,as she seemed
to have energy once in awhile...I am looking forward to a change
in her behaviour as she has been irritable and difficult...
Thanks for infor,,,found it helpful. D
Dear Jackie:
Thanks for your interest. Genie seems to be doing much better. We
had a lapse though, of two days as the pills ran out and we only
had half the prescription filled initially. (During that two day
period there was an incident where she became extrememly irritable
and out of control whether or not it's related.) Now she is much
more at ease and seems to be happier and more content with herself,
not as irritable. Her appetite is still slight. Her energy level
is good as well. Though, she has said that she still gets abdominal
pains from time to time. We haven't had her stools tested again
yet, as it will occur when the prescription runs out. I was wondering
if perhaps she should get the test done before the prescription
runs out so that there were be a lapse in treatment again. As for
iodoquin, the local superstore ordered it and it was here with 24
hours.

Dear Jackie:
My daughter no longer has the above.
Thanks for your support.
